Taranto Construction was first started in 1953 by Bartolomeo "Barney" Taranto, a New York City firefighter who learned his craft in the military and moved on to start his own company. After Barney built his first home on Staten Island, he used the profits to build two more. Fast forward to today, Taranto Construction is the leading contractor for medical buildings, churches, and other commercial properties. The business was passed down to Barney's four sons; Dana, Brian, Chris, and Zane, who continued to push the company forward. Taranto Construction is still family-owned and operated by Zane and his son, Nick, and his nephew Phil, who run the business with the same levels of quality and integrity.
